By Enrico Lai, Marcello Floris and Nicola Filippi
Paolo Carta 4 May 1973 - 27 February 2012
Paolo… our friend…
Many of you know AEGEE-Cagliari, many of you have met in the past different people coming from the sunny Sardinia, but most of you don’t have a clue how it has all begun back in 1995. So let’s start!
In 1993 Marcello Floris had founded ELSA in Cagliari, another great idea but limited to law students. After finding an article...
15 years ago: AEGEE’s WG Congress
Marieke Kuijers (Tilburg) was next to Thijs Arlman (Enschede) one of the main organisers.
In its series “15 years ago” the Golden Oldie looks back to special moments in the history of AEGEE. Today, in its first instalment, we look back to the first and only Working Group Congress, which took place on 30th November and 1st December 1996 in Enschede. The highlight of the event was the founding meeting of the Cultural Working Group (CWG)....
And the winner is… Barcelona!
It is decided! The Agora in Barcelona in spring 1999 received most votes in the “Favourite Agora” poll. In the very first voting on the Golden Odie site the Barcelona Agora received 17 out of the 201 votes that were cast – that’s 8,5 percent of all votes. Alexey Korostelev: Many things just came together well. I was very enthusiastic, wanted to do more for the network. I liked the country very much, I like Romanian food and drinks. The moving from Bucuresti to Constanta...
Vote on your favourite Agora!
Was it the “best and biggest paella and a lot of fun,” that made the Agora in Barcelona the best general assembly ever, as Elena Aksyonova from Lviv states? Or does the Agora Bonn in 1990 deserve this title, as Jos Eikhout remarks. Everyone has his or her own favourite Agora among the 50 that have taken place so far.
You can vote on your own personal favourite Agora now here on the Golden Oldie site in the brand new polling section on...
Jeroen van Eik: My favourite AEGEE event
In this new series the Golden Oldies asks Les Anciens members to present their favourite event. Jeroen van Eik, former member of AEGEE-Maastricht and founder of AEGEE-Grenoble, was highly involved in developing the European School (ES) training concepts in AEGEE. Being responsible for internal education in CD in 1994/5, he managed the ES in Malcesine, one year later in July 1996 he co-organised the European School in Gliwice. This event is considered...
