Finally! Les Anciens has officially now a new website! Under the address www.anciens.org you can now find the new look of AEGEE’s alumni association. The new site does not only have a new and elegant look, it also contains much more information about Les Anciens for its members and for everyone else who wants to find out what the alumni club is doing.
Next to a general section which gives a clear overview about the aim and structure of Les Anciens, all readers can check the Calendar of events plus the detailed descriptions of every single Les Anciens event – from the annual Back2Brussels gathering to the New Year’s celebrations. For each event you can also find up-to-date information where the next event take place, how to apply, plus programme news and maps. There is also a news section, however, it is rather small, since the Golden Oldie has proven to be an efficient information tool for the association. We also inform you under a separate menu item about the support that Les Anciens is giving to AEGEE.
Absolutely new is the section “Join Les Anciens”. Here everyone, who finished his or her major involvement with AEGEE and would like to join our alumni association, can find all major benefits for Les Anciens members. If you are considering to join, but are still in doubt whether Les Anciens is your place to be, just send us a mail via the new contact forms. We will reply to you as fast as possible!
For several years, the old Les Anciens page, which was based on the content management system Joomla, served its purpose. The Les Anciens board would like to thank its former IT responsible Jens-Erik Weber for creating the previous website and taking care of it. The new site is based on WordPress, the same content management system that the Golden Oldie uses. This makes maintaining both sites at the same time a lot easier.
In the next few months, there will be two important additions to the new website: an online members database and a photo site. Both are currently under construction. We will keep you informed about the progress on these additions.
