Since its first edition in 2005, New Year events have become a fix point in the calendar of Les Anciens d’AEGEE. Only Back2Brussels and the General Assembly have more participants than this type of event. The first Years event has also been the biggest one so far: 50 Les Anciens members celebrated in December 2005 in Budapest, with a great additional programme including wine-tasting, a dance performance at the national theatre, a visit to an open-air steaming Turkish bath with snow around at sub-zero temperatures, excursions and much more. Since then there have been New Year events in places like Helsinki, near Utrecht, Berlin, Belgrade, Brasov, Valencia, Wrocław and Skopje. The last event took place at the end of 2021 in Lapland.
